What is the Summary Report and how can I issue it?

In this article, we’ll explain what the Summary Report is and how to issue/print it from the Butler Panel.

Updated over a week ago

The Summary Report is an important tool for monitoring and recording your store’s daily transactions. It provides a consolidated view of your financial activity, helping with internal tracking, accounting records, and compliance with tax requirements.

What does the Summary Report include?

The Summary Report contains key information about the day’s transactions, such as:

  • Total revenue: The total amount of income collected during the day.

  • Payment breakdown: A detailed split of receipts by payment method (cash, cards, vouchers, etc.).

  • Total receipts: The number of receipts issued.

  • VAT and net value: The total VAT collected and the net value of sales.

How do I issue the Summary Report?

Issuing the Summary Report via Butler is quick and easy. Follow these steps:

1. Login to Butler Panel

Sign in to the Butler Panel with your account credentials. If you encounter issues, refer to the login guide here.

2. Go to Settings

Navigate to the left-hand menu on your screen and select “Settings.”

3. Store Tab

At the top of the page, you’ll find tabs. By default, you are in the first tab called “Store.” Here, you’ll find general settings related to your business.

4. Summary Report Printing

Locate the “Print Summary” section at the top of the screen.

5. Issue the Summary Report

  1. In the section described above, you’ll find a blue button labeled “Summary.” Click on it.

  2. The Summary Report will be printed automatically on the thermal printer connected to Butler — the same one used for issuing receipts and invoices.

Important: The Summary Report, as described above, is issued for the current day only.

Summary Report for a specific period:

If you want to print a summary report for a previous date or for a specific time period, follow these steps:

  1. Set the date or time range: Use the “Today” and “Store Hours” filters located next to the “Summary” button.

  2. "Today": With this filter, you can select a specific date or a predefined period (e.g., "Last 7 days").

  3. "Store Hours": With this filter, you can set a specific time range, independent of the store’s operating hours, by turning off the "Use Store Hours" toggle.

  4. Issue: Once you select the desired date or time range, click the "Summary" button again to generate the report.

Attention! The Summary Report is for personal use only and is different from the “Sales per VAT category” report, which must be sent to your accountant every month. For more information, click here.
