1. Log in to the Butler Panel
Sign in to the Butler Panel using your account credentials. If you encounter any difficulties, refer to the login guide available here.
2. Access the Catalogue
Open the options menu located on the left side of your screen. Then, go to the tab labeled “Catalogue.”
3. Select Category
On the screen that appears, you will see the existing product categories. Locate and click on the category where you want to add the new product.
4. Start Adding a Product
On the next screen, click the “Add Product” button at the top of the page to begin adding a new product.
5. Product Name
In the “Name” field, type the name of the product.
6. Set Prices
In the “Base Price” field, enter the price of the product.
If your product has a different price for Delivery or Take-Away orders, fill in the respective fields accordingly. If the price is the same, simply leave those fields empty and proceed to the next step.
7. Add Description
In the “Description” field, you can add a more detailed description of the product (e.g., “Aromatic Greek coffee with medium intensity”).
This description will appear both in the order-taking system for your waiters and staff (Tables and Point of Sale), as well as to your customers through the Butler Catalogue, if you have this service enabled.
8. Create / Add to Product Group – Subcategory (Optional)
You can create a new subcategory or add the product to an existing one, in order to make ordering easier for both your staff and your customers (e.g., White Wines, Red Wines, Rosé Wines, etc.).
9. Enter Barcode (Optional)
If you use a barcode scanner at your store’s point of sale for packaged products, fill in the product’s barcode in the “Barcode” field.
Tip: If you have a barcode scanner connected to your device, you can scan the product’s barcode while the “Barcode” field is selected to automatically insert it. This way, you won’t need to type the code manually.
If a product has multiple barcodes, you can add them by clicking the “+” button located to the right of the “Barcode” field.
10. Override Income Classification Category (Optional)
You have the option to override the Income Classification Category you set when adding a category to your Catalogue.
For more information about the “Income Classification Category Code” field, click here.
11. Override Category VAT (Optional)
If the product is subject to a different VAT rate than the category you are adding it to (e.g., coffee with alcohol), enable the “Override Category VAT” option.
Then, set the appropriate VAT rate for that specific product.
12. Set Environmental Fee
In the “Environmental Fee” section, enter the amount of the environmental fee that applies to the product. Enable or disable the “Auto Charge Fee” option, depending on whether you want this fee to be automatically applied each time the product is added to an order.
13. Add Bag Fee (Optional)
Enable the toggle to automatically apply the bag fee to the product. This toggle should only be activated if the product is a bag.
14. Upload Photo (Optional)
Optionally, you can upload an appealing photo that represents the product, such as a picture of a dish or a drink, by clicking or dragging a file into the box below.
This will make your catalogue more attractive to your customers, especially if you are using the Butler Catalogue. It will also make the catalogue even easier for your staff to use.
15. Select Colour (Optional)
Finally, in the circle located below the photo box, you can manually set the colour of your choice for the product.
Tip: It’s a good idea to select a colour, as this makes order-taking at the Point of Sale visually easier both for the cashier and for your waiters.
If you upload an accompanying photo, the Panel will automatically select the dominant colour from the image as the product colour.
