Updated over 3 weeks ago

In Butler POS, you can customize the order of categories and products in your catalogue, creating a more organized and user-friendly experience for both your staff and your customers. In addition, you can use the search function to quickly locate any product or category you need, making the ordering process even more convenient and efficient.

Change the Order of Categories & Products

1. Go to the Catalogue

Open the options menu on the left side of the screen. Then, go to the tab labeled “Catalogue.”

2. Enable Sorting Mode

If you want to change the order and properly sort the categories or the products within a category, either stay on the main “Catalogue” page you’re already on, or select the specific product category you want.

Click the “Change Sorting” button at the top right of the page.

When you click it, you’ll notice that all the category boxes on the page begin to move slightly. This indicates that the boxes are now movable and can be rearranged.

3. Move Categories or Products

To move a category or product into the desired order, click and hold on the category or product box and drag it with your mouse (or finger) to the new position.

To change the order of categories when multiple catalogues are available, make sure the “All” option is selected from the catalogue selection menu, as shown below.

4. Save Changes

When you are satisfied with the new order, click the “Save” button at the top right of the page. Otherwise, click “Cancel” and the order will revert to its original state, before any changes were made.

The sorting changes are visible both at the Point of Sale for your staff and to your customers through the Butler Application.

Product Search

Searching is a very quick and easy process.

1. Open the search field

Click the magnifying glass icon next to the “Add Category” or “Add Product” button (or next to the “Visible Only” button, if your store has multiple catalogues).

2. Enter search term

In the search window that opens, type the name of the product you want to find in the “Product Name” field.

3. Select result

Click on the desired result from the list that appears. You will be automatically redirected to the category page at the exact spot where the product is located.
