Adding/Changing Order Type in the Point of Sale

In this article, we’ll see how you can add and then change the type of an order you are about to record.

Updated over a week ago

The Butler Point of Sale allows you to record both Take Away and Delivery orders, giving you flexibility in serving your customers.

Let’s see how you can easily change the order type before recording it.

Requirement: Make sure you have created at least one Take Away table and one Delivery table in the Butler Panel.

Changing Order Type

1. Go to the Point of Sale

Open the “Point of Sale” tab in the Butler Panel.

2. Locate the Toggle

At the top right of the screen, you will see a toggle with the options “Take Away” and “Delivery.”

3. Select Order Type

Click on the order type you want to record. The toggle will move to the corresponding position, indicating the active order type.

1. Active order type: Take-Away 2. Active order type: Delivery

Important Notes:

  • Automatic Selection: If you have created only one table type (either Take Away or Delivery), the Point of Sale will automatically select that type, and the toggle will not appear.

  • Table Selection: After changing the order type, make sure you select the correct table (Take Away or Delivery) from the corresponding list.

  • Order Update: If you change the order type after products have already been added to the cart, the order will automatically update with the new type.

With this simple function, you can easily adjust the order type in the Point of Sale, effectively serving both customers who pick up their orders themselves and those who choose home delivery.
