In this article, we’ll look at what “Waiter Notifications” are, how they are used, and how they appear both in the Panel and to the staff.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The Butler Panel offers the “Waiter Notifications” feature, a function that ensures your staff is always informed and ready to respond to customer needs. With these notifications, your staff instantly receives updates about:

  • Ready Orders: Notifications when orders are prepared and ready to be served from the kitchen.

  • Customer Requests: Notifications for requests made by customers at their table, such as asking for the bill or any other assistance.

These notifications appear:

  • In the “Waiter Notifications” tab, within the Butler Panel menu.

  • As push notifications on staff mobile devices (smartphones) through the Butler Panel app.

This way, your staff always knows where and how to serve customers, improving both efficiency and service speed.

How to View Waiter Notifications

Open the Butler Panel app on your mobile device. If you haven’t installed it yet, you can learn how by clicking here.

2. Access the “Waiter Notifications” Tab

Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner of the screen and, from the options menu, select the “Waiter Notifications” tab.

Notification Settings (Top section)

  • Notifications: Enable or disable notifications on your mobile device.

  • Always Notify Me: Choose whether you want to receive notifications at all times, or only if you have used Butler within the last 3 hours.

Here you’ll find the notifications you’ve received. Each notification includes:

  • Date and time

If it’s a customer request made through the “Waiter Call” feature, only the date/time and the table name will be displayed.

2. Order Serving Process

The waiter can tap on an order and mark it as Served by pressing the green “Served” button, once the order has been delivered to the customer.

  • To check whether an order has been served, as well as which waiter served it and how long it took from the moment it was placed, go to Order History from the menu on the left side of the screen and select the order you’re interested in.

  • Here you can see in detail who submitted the order, along with the date and time it was sent, as well as who served it and the date and time it was marked as served. For this data to be accurate, it is essential that the waiter presses the “Served” button in the “Waiter Notifications” tab at the time of serving each order.

  • If an order has not been served, it will appear as follows in your Order History:
